Re: {Chrysler 300} Ballast resistors

If that connection is in any way compromised, i.e. lose screw, broken strands or wire, or corroded terminals this will cause resistance and heat.
Best to check these connections from time to time.

Subject: {Chrysler 300} Ballast resistors

The wives tale concerning Mopar ballast resistor failure is no tale since its happened to me twice now,  most recently on Sunday. These are the ceramic blocks, exposed internals in the rear with center metal mount. Of course it went open while I had not so much as a foil gum wrapper much less tools of any kind with me.

These resistors are apparently consumable. It burned open at its weakest link, its attachment to the terminal. Everyone should keep one in the glove box.
