Dave; Use F or FA. Type A suffix A WAS the original fluid used. Since it is no longer available, Chrysler Teck. Blletin suggests that F be used. The tranny and converter takes about 11 quarts.
It's up to you, but I would suggest F or FA.

I'm going to change the transmission and coverter oil in my F provided I can locate a pan gasket.
I have an unopened case of type A that has been sitting around for maybe10 years or so.
Question....should I use the type A or regular ATF that is now available??
