As with so many things in life -- the first muscle car is in the eye of the beholder, as there is no established criteria for defining a "muscle car." But make no mistake -- the Chrysler 300 certainly heralded the beginning of the 19-year(?) "muscle car era" (1955-1973).

As many people believe (and have commented to me), the 300 was "the car that started it all...."
