[Chrysler300] 1957 headlight laws

The Federal law was first enacted allowing the change to 4 headlamps on cars. Then each state had to pass its own law allowing cars sold in that state to have such equipment. Thus depending on each state's individual laws and when their legislators meet, some happened more quickly than others.

Here are two notes from my 300C Handbook:
NOTE: Early cars destined for delivery to states which had not yet legalized dual headlamps were built with single headlamps.

NOTE: A follow-up memo dated Nov. 21, 1956 adds two items of optional equipment: Highway Hi-Fi and Dual Headlights (at no extra cost). A further letter dated Dec. 12, 1956, states Dual Headlamps are Standard Equipment and all 300 C's will be built with them.

I have been told that as all the states had not enacted new rules to
authorize (compel?) double headlights in 1956/1957 and as some dealers in the states
that had not yet enacted the new standard were demanding 300C's (not to be
left behind by cross border dealers AND customer demand), Chrysler made a
couple handfuls with single headlights. Does anyone have any idea how many were
manufactured? How many are left? Either coupe or ragtop?

Is there any web address at Chrysler to inquire about these historical
facts? I have run into walls unless you are in the market for a new car.
