62 Brake upgrade - reply

Hi Sean,

Since all 1962 Chryslers are short wheelbase (except for 62 NewYorker) , 63
and 64 brakes will fit it nicely ( same size balljoints ) and are MUCH
superior to the 62 units, in that they only have one wheel cylinder per
corner. Much less fuss and muss, etc. ; some 1963/4 models have heavier
duty brakes ( larger & wider drums) such as NYker and 300 - and therefore
are a better idea than Newport units...

You will need the spindle and everything that fits on it, of course, as well
as the steering arm from the donor car... the replacement spindle will fit
right up to the existing ball joints, and the steering arm will fit right up
to the outer tie rods, you shouldn't even have to get the car realigned.

300'ly
John
