I had a similar situation recently with my H. I put it on the list server a
few weeks ago and the consensus of opinion was a bad fuel pump, crack in the
fuel line or bad floats. I checked all the fuel lines and couldn't find a
crack. Last weekend I changed fuel pumps to see that solved the problem.
Car wouldn't start the following morning unless I poured gas directly into
the carb. Turns out it is a bad accelerator pump in the primary carb.
Replaced it and everything is fine now. So check your accelerator pump.
