Trunk Insulation Paper

Hi all
Anyone know of a supplier for the original type insulation paper fitted on
the inside of the trunklid. Any tips on installation would also be greatly
appreciated........do you have to seperate the outer skin?
Thanks for the help.

Hi Owen -

I believe that Bob Merritt sells rolls of the material in question, or
at least material that is as close as you can get. If you cut out your
existing panels at a 45 degree angle with a box cutter or similar blade, so
that the bevel cut extends under the metal bracing, you can use the cut out
panels as templates, and glue in the replacements with GM adhesive. These
panels were not painted, per se, but did receive ovrspray when the inside of
the decklid was painted, so if you act accordingly, you should come up with a
fairly correct result, or at least one that will appear so. I believe that
the treatment of this area was diverse enough, that you cannot be "wrong" if
you use the correct material.
