I'll be replacing the bushings and the ball joints. Does anyone have suggestions on how to set the alignment once reassembled? I'll take to have professionally aligned after. ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 2 Date: Sat, 27 Oct 2001 12:59:39 -0500 (Central Daylight Time) From: "Les & Kim" <smckl@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: 55 t-lite lens Found this on e-bay. 55 Taillight lens NOS Item # 597239680 Les S. Its been a great trip, but I haven't been able to give it the love it deserves. For those who have met me and my 62 at Carlisle or the Chrysler shows know how fond I am of the car. Just ask John Hertog, ive bugged him enough times with Q&A's. If anyone is interested, its a very clean, very original, rust free 62 300 4dr. White on RoseBeige (?) 383 pushbutton automatic. Some like it just for its original trunk mat. I have all the paperwork down to the original windowsticker. I have it on Ebay right now, but would consider selling it to someone on the list outside of the auction. Just let me know. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=59719537 4 Brian ________________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________________ Message: 4 Date: Sat, 27 Oct 2001 23:07:12 -0400 From: "Myles Wallace" <myles1@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: 300F/G Door Step/Scuff Plates I believe I've seen '57-'59 reproduction door step plates for 300's. What about 300F or G's - anyone have an idea if they are available? Other options: 1) Restore deteriorated originals - appear to be aluminum, can they be patched, I have two that aren't a total loss (inside edges are partially flaked off -- how many screw holes are there in the inside edge by the way?); 2) New Yorker sills work?; 3) Parts - anyone have a pair? This project has been suggested to our Reproduction Parts committee . Therefore, the best current source for decent sill plates is salvage yards . The good news is that ANY 2 door, hardtop or convertible, Chrysler 1960 through 1964, all models, uses the same sill plates ! If yours are rotted out, then the easiest / cheapest/ best way out is to locate a good set of used ones, probably from a dry area such as Arizona, etc... Yes, 1960 thru 1964 NewYorker, Windsor, Newport, and 300 models will all interchange and are exactly the same. As far as restoring a good set of used sill plates to their original finish, they must be stripped of their anodizing, buffed out, and then re-anodized.
