As somebody mentioned, LP2-L indicates the car was built in Los Angeles and, yes, that is the series number for a Plaza with a V8. The L signifies a low priced car. Trim codes weren't available, but paint colors were; AAA= Jet Black, BBB= Bluebonnet Blue, and so on, were published by paint suppliers.. According to the book I have (The Catalog of American Car ID numbers, 1950-1959), the code wasn't stamped anywhere on the car and if the code was needed, the dealer could find out the code based on the car's serial number. For two tone colored cars, the first two letters indicated the upper color, the second letter indicates the lower color and the third letter indicated the insert color. Does anyone know exacly where it should be? Is it possible to find out the original color by any of these
