Re: [FWDLK] PUSH BUTTON MECHANISM QUESTION

I have a De Soto I was planning on putting a  Ram 5.7 3d gen Hemi into.  I would dearly love to retain the push button shift while using the OD ;transmission.  Has anyone given any thought to a way to shift electrically using a modified push button shifter?

some cables I've seen show some minimal wear, nothing a firm "push" doesnt overcome.. the adjustment is on the trans, depending on year and PF/TF there are slide adjustments or the threaded wheel adjuster.  when all else fails, drop the pan, have someone hold N button, and adjust the cable with the selector bellcrank in the N detent, a secondary visial is electrical contact with the neutral safety shitch, adjust the cable there, at N, all other gears should be dead on as well, as the fulcrum point at teh selector and trans are the same, if you get slop, you'll probably need another cable,

HELLO GANG!!
HAPPY 4TH!!!

Is there any adjustment in the shifter push button mechanism for amount
of throw (distance) that the cable moves when various buttons are
depressed???

Has anyone ever had a bad shifter cable due to too much slack between
the cable and its housing,,,kind of causing 'incomplete' shifts??
