Re: [FWDLK] 350 Block Questions

Most of the mid 1950's parts #s start with 15xxxxx or 16xxxxx.  This may be a 1953 or 1954 block.  Does it have an engine # with a prefix that would tell what kind of car it came out of,  like the engine in my 1955 Plymouth is P27 38942, which means it is a 241 V8.

Excellent discussion on the engine options among the brands for 57 and 58.
This is good information for future reference.

But back to my original question, just what engine is casting number 1461416
?

I am quite certain it is not a 350. The bore only measures 3.772 and the
distributor hole is at the rear.
Could it be a Plymouth 277?
