When I rebuilt my dual quads I used
the carburetor bronze and silver carburetor spray from Eastwood. Today
after about ten years they still have those colors, but are dirty from a bit
of oil spray and soot from backfiring. It would be tough to go back and
spray them unless they were removed from the car.
I also used high temp glossy black
spray on the cast iron bases and they are still nice and black although not so
glossy.
As I remember, I pickled the cast iron carburetor bases
(throttle bodies) in rust fix (phosphoric acid) to keep them from
rusting.

look likes new and the cars are not really driven that much. My dual carbs
even after being rebuilt turn a dull milky gray with small white spots. Of
course I am not driving them much they are just sitting inside until show

I just wonder if there is a clear
spray that can be used on them that is heat proof and will
last?
