That photo car used to be a four door sedan?
Wow!
There was a '59 Dodge convertible at the WPC Nat'ls in
Sacramento this summer that started life as a two door post. It was
pretty amazing. Top from a sixties Chrysler. No X member, but the frame
was reinforced in different ways.
BUT not a project for the shade tree mechanic, which I
believe was the original question.

thanks nick, and well, john would miss out on a body structurally
superior to factory design, well at least one of mine.
the exner design needed a few modifications to eliminate the typical
flex the hardtops all have. converted sedans are no different than
rusted originals that needed a full qtr replaced, or major sections of the
floor pans, or any rusted car that has been repaired for that
matter.
this "4dr sedan" doesnt need a cage to keep the body from twisting when
the front wheels are fighting to stay on the ground
one of the few i did since a few said it couldnt happen.... all while 5
or 6 rust-free genuine 2drht's await resto in the garage line-up!

I don't know about that, ever seen the one Jim Rawa did
converting a 4 door to a 2 door. I'd have no issues owning that car. It's
sweet looking and all done correctly.

Everyone:
I would never consider
owning, even if free, any MoPar that someone has attempted to convert to
anything. A two door hard top, ex two door sedan, would never grace my
driveway.
