While we
are on the subject of steering wheels, when I was at Barrett Jackson this year,
there was a steering wheel restoration guy there that had beautiful stuff. Some
steering wheel guys just fill the cracks, sand it down, and paint over the old
plastic. This fellow removes ALL the old plastic, cleans and seals the steel
rim, then re-casts the plastic, and adds UV inhibitors. His stuff was a work of
art. He does clear or solid or translucent, metal flake, any color you want, dual
colors, and custom shapes. He had one of the rectangular Mopar wheels and a 2 tone
56 Dodge wheel with the correct color translucent Ivory top half. He has molds
for most Mopars. See his work at:
