as far as the imperial sway bars... they are too wide to use as a direct
bolt-on for 57-9 plyms... tried it, what does work however, are
65-68 full size chrysler sway bars [for 57-9 dod/plym] the spread and
strut bar angles are on the money, use the same end links that encompass the
strut rod itslef, the standoffs are formed on the sway bar, so all that is
needed as far as fabrication goes is to use 2 versabar 90s, or make your own
standoff that bolts to the inside of the frame rails. did it 5 times
already... right down to my daily driver 59 fury.... parted a
couple of "L"'s and plenty of ny'ers and newports - kept all the swaybars for
this purpose.... use a nice set of new shock bushings on the
standoff/links through your new frame brackets. use a unibit to
drill the outside of the framerail [facing frt tires] large enough to insert a
socket through the frame to the backside of the inner framerail, where you will
bolt on your 90degree standoff perch- if you know how to weld, weld it on,
and weld a gussett on one end, depending on whether or not the body
is off the frame or not determines whether i weld or bolt 'em.
if someone wants pics.... i can prob find some or go take a few when
i get a chance to
jim
