What engine do you have in the Coronet ? If it's the
stock 326 engine, then you may be OK. If you've changed to a larger
engine, air cooling may not be sufficient and you may need to go with a fluid
cooled PF. BTW, are you using the torque converter from the car that had
the air cooled PF ? You should, as it has little 'fins' on it that act
like a fan for the tranny. Otherwise, you risk an early failure.

Local tranny shop that is placing a different '58
Powerflite transmission in my '59 Coronet said today that the '58 is
"air-cooled", and the '59 is "fluid-cooled". Was 1959 the change-over
year for this in Powerflites? Are there any modifications necessary
other than blocking the transmission lines from the radiator?
