Lou, Most carb throat adapters are intended to use a larger air cleaner on a smaller carb. If you turn the adapter upside down, it might work for your application. Most adapters are plastic, but try to find one made of metal if you can. Does anyone know the easiest way to get a stock 1959-60 air cleaner to fit on a new Edelbrock AFB 4bbl carb? One person I know hacked out the bottom of his air cleaner, and welded the bottom of a newer one there, but I am wondering if there is an easier way. I have seen some "carb throat adapters" advertised, but I don't know if any will actually work. Anyone have experience in this area?
