Re: [FWDLK] Nerves of steel?

Greg,

I wouldn't call it nerve, I'd call it pride! We've made the 230-mile (each
way) trip to the Chrysler Nationals @ Carlisle with both our '56 Imperial
and our '60 DeSoto with no problems whatsoever. It's just a matter of
checking the car over before you make the trip, bring extra fluids (for you
and the car!), some tools, etc. Several years ago, I attended the Buick
National meet in Flint, Michigan, which is about 750 miles from here on Long
Island. I drove my '55 Buick Century, which had over 200,000 miles. It
performed beautifully at 70 mph the entire trip. I met a gent at Flint who
drove his 1942 Buick Special from Juneau, ALASKA! Go for it!
