Re: [FWDLK] Junkyardin!

Well,

Haven't posted in a while, but this one just called to me.

It was my honeymoon. My wife and I had only been married less than 72 hours. We spent our honeymoon in San Antonio, Texas in the early part of December (might I recommend it, very beautiful all decorated for Christmas) and did tons of sight seeing, fine dining, etc. On the way home, we decided to go slow, pass through little old towns, and dine in the small town cafe's and such along the way. At the time, I had a shirt with the Forward Look emblem on the back that I had created myself, and since this is Christmas in Texas, it's usually T-shirt weather anyway. Well, this one little town we stop in, an old timer at the bar of this one diner ask me if I know what that emblem is on my shirt. I reply "Of course!". He then proceeds to tell me all about his car and where he finds parts for it. Since my wife is already at a table and thinks I am just talking to the friendly locals, I ask for directions. After a very hearty lunch, I tell my lovely bride I want to take a scenic route ba! ck to the highway.

Well, needless to say, we spent the last 6 hours of our honeymoon in John Salvage. Neat place with tons of cars. What I didn't suspect was the junkyard dog which, in true Texas fashion, was the BIGGEST bull I have ever seen! I can say, that the 59 Plymouth they had there had a lot of good parts, as we spent a good 30 minutes in the car waiting for the "dog" to leave.

Yes, this is one I have yet to live down, and don't think I ever will. But, must say, that the next time I am in the area, I want to go back. You know, relive my honeymoon and all. <sheepish smile!>

Night all!
