Re: [FWDLK] Deisel MPG - The HEMI is reborn!!!

I looked into a few diesel trucks and most wont get 20 mpg more likely mid
to high teens. For the difference in cost I stuck with gas. Actually I got
my new ram quad cab 4.7 for a few thousand less that a 3-4 year old Ford
deisel with 75K + miles on it. I guess you need to do a lot of miles to
justify the cost difference.

Re: [FWDLK] The HEMI is reborn!!!That's better than my 87 D150 that gets 15
or so on the highway, but it has the 360-4 and 3.55 gears. It's screams for
mercy around 75 mph.

It?ll be interesting to see if the fuel consumption for this new engine improves over the appetite of the current line of truck V8s. I looked at a Dakota sticker the other day and it was 15mpg city 17 highway. Totally unacceptable, imho.

Look for an all new Hemi in the 2003 Dodge Rams!!! The new 5.7L Hemi
has two spark plugs per cylinder, develops 345 horsepower and puts out 365
pounds-feet of torque! These engines are standard in the heavy duty Rams,
and optional in the others.
