As I understand it, the window sticker (originally
called the "Monroney sticker" after the author of the
bill that made them mandatory) became mandatory by law
some time during the '58 model year. I personally have
never seen one older than '60, but they were something
that didn't usually get saved. (Out of all the cars
I've ever owned, I've only had two that had the window
sticker saved; one was an exceptionally nice '69 Olds
98, and the other was a well-kept '71 Dart Swinger
that interestingly enough was originally sold by Dodge
Trucks Inc. of Oakland CA, a dealership I remember as
one that supposedly only sold trucks/busses/RVs...)
