Haven't seen his current ad, so I may be proven wrong,
but the last few posts I've seen from Mike, his
signature has simply said "'56 Dodge" without further
elaboration as was once the case on his sig line.
I like to give the benefit of the doubt when I can,
and based on the change in the sig line I would do so
here. A current ad, particularly recently posted,
still stating the IMO disproven assertions would of
course make me reconsider.

I do agree with that, but I had a strange experience
at the Chrysler Fall Classic in Fremont CA a couple of
weeks ago that I'm still shaking my head over. I had
two people insist that my car couldn't be both a 300-K
and a Silver Edition 300 at the same time. I actually
had to drag one doubter out to the car and show him
the VIN number before he could be convinced. (This
was, of course, the first thing I checked before
bidding on the car; Sport Series 300 VINs start with
"82" while K VINs start with "84". So I had this one
relatively easy compared to some.)
So I have sympathy for someone being told his car
isn't what he says it is, but I agree that
documentation means a lot more to me than what carb
setup is on the car today. I hope Tim can find more
positive means of documenting Dash One cars than he's
been able to find so far (through no fault or lack of
efforts of his own). I also hope the codes he's found
on his build card help solve this mystery.
