[FWDLK] Fired up rebuilt 318

I have had my 58 Plymouth Savoy for many years and have been slowly working
to completely restore the car. It seemed like I would never get to the point
of starting to put the car back together but now I am finally putting things
back together instead of taking things off the car. Last year I had the car
stripped to remove all the rust and had it sealed with a Dupont
sealer/primer. I also pulled the drive train and rebuild the 318 Poly V8.
I finished the engine, and reworked the complete drive train and suspension
and put it all back into the car. I also converted to power steering, added
power brakes, and 2 speed wipers with window washer.

Today was a big test - After a complete rebuild I got the 318 V8 Poly engine
fired up today. It sounds great and now I have even more incentive to
finish the body work and get her on the road. I have to admit I expected
something to go wrong when I turned the key and heard the engine turn over.
It did not start up the first or second try as I had to get gas to the carb
but once that happened she fired up and ran really well. I did some fine
tuning, adjusting the points and timing and she ran ever so smooth and even.
I expect with the bigger cam, dual exhaust, oversize pistons, and the 600
CFM 4 barrel Edelbrock carb I have probably increased the horse power from
the original 250hp to about 275hp or more. Anyway you can probably tell I am
pretty proud of myself especially since I got it back together and it did
not blow up.
