Re: [FWDLK] concept cars - norseman

I must say I have a strong attraction to that concept car since the first
time I saw a picture of it. Too bad it's sitting on the ocean floor !! May
be some rescue team will do a submarine research like they made with the
Titanic and maybe we'll find that the depth kept it intact ! Just dreamin'
...

The only picture I have of the Norseman is in the "Cars of the fabulous
'50s" book. Here's the comment : "There's some confusion as to whether the
Norseman was to be a concept car or merely a test bed for its unique
cantilevered roof, which was supported only by the rear pillars. In the end,
it was neither : the Norseman was being transported from italian builder
Ghia aboard the Andrea Doria when the ship sank in July of 1956". I think
that the lines of this car are really stunning. The interior appears to be a
four bucket glossy vinyl seats affair.

Ian, are you planning on building a replica ?

While we're on the subject of concept cars does anybody know where I can get
more information on the Exner/Ghia '56 Norseman.
I'm looking for specifications, chassis details, pictures etc.

Regards,
Ian.
