You must remember, when the
chemicals do their work on the
paint, they also take off
metal. It will thin the sheet
metal somewhat. I would
suggest, if you are only
taking paint off (not rust) to
use media blasting. This is
like sand blasting but it uses
plastic beads, walnut shells
or even glass beads. This will
not take off rust though. It
will do a great job on
removing paint without taking
any metal off. I have even
seen it used on fiber glass.
