[FWDLK] 57 Hardtop window mechanism

Can anybody on the list who has restored a 57, 58, or 59 Mopar window
winder, help me out with some advise here?

I have a problem with my front door window glass. Andy Bernbaum supplied
me with the furry channel that goes vertically up against the vent
window at the front of the door, and inside the door at the door handle
end of the door. When I got it out of the box and tried it up against
the door glass, it seemed very tight. Upon measuring it, it seemed to
have an inside measurement of about 3mm, whereas my glass is about 6mm
thick.

Consequently, after totally dismantling my vent window, drilling out all
the old rivets to get it apart, and having new stainless rivets made to
put it back together as factory, dipping and rezincing all metal
components, replacing the chrome beaded furry stuff at the top edges of
the door, rechroming about 8 components that make up the assembly, (vent
window frame, knob, button, vent glass channel, vent glass pivot, chrome
garnish at top inside of door, window handle, inside door handle), and
putting it all back together in the door- the glass is very stiff to
wind up, and feels like it is putting a lot of strain on the winder
mechanism.

Why is this? It is not in the mechanism, as with the glass out of the
door, the window winder is free enough to turn with my little finger.

Have I been supplied with the wrong furry channel do you think?
After sending two faxes to Andy Bernbaum telling him exactly this and
asking him-he will not reply.

Right now, I am lifting up the glass in the channel by hand as the
strain has popped off the little retainer that connects the mechanism
inside the door, but I don't want to put it back together and then
strain it again and break something important.

If anybody has undertaken this task and has some advise to offer
regarding the window glass and furry channels, please let me know. Also
I am looking for a passengers side (right) vent window rubber NOS-
Part# 1755-764. Anybody know who has one of these?

Appreciate any help.
