Pardon me for jumping in (ignorantly, as usual). My '64 Dart has ball & trunion front u-joint as well. While I'm not suggesting you use an early A-body unit, isn't there another donor car (say, an early 60's C-body) that you could get a ball and trunion shaft from and have it adjusted to the correct length? Aren't the output shaft flanges the same between the forward look and early 60's cars, or are they different? -Paul Clark '64 Dart GT -----Original Message----- From: St. Clair, Todd [SMTP:tstclair@xxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, June 04, 1998 6:27 PM To: L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [FWDLK] U-joint A From what I found out the use a CV joint hook-up and put a slip >joint on it and cut >your drive line down and put a spined shaft on it to the tune (locally) of >about $450. >Jim Yuck! That's expensive. There is a driveline shop close by that I will take it to for an estimate. That 4 speed is sounding more and more inviting all the time! Todd |
