Just a little note to let you all know some status of some things...
- I've made a deal on our new server... It's one from work that comes
off lease in July. For all you tech-types, it's a Compaq Proliant 1500
dual pentium 133 server, with a SmartArray Raid controller, and five
4-gig fast-wide hot-swappable drives. 256MB of memory should work just
fine. =) It's not a horrendously speedy server, but it should fill our
needs QUITE well for web, email, and personal web space.
- On the current server, I still haven't figured out a darn thing. I'm
reading the books as fast as I can, but right now it's a textbook case
of misconfiguration. Basically, anything I could have done wrong, I did
wrong. Nonetheless, it's running. A start is a start, so I'm happy.
Funny -- normally when something doesn't work right, I just add a little
Marvel Mystery Oil, and everything usually then works fine. I'm not
going to try it in this case.
- Anyone who has ordered a calendar, and has not received it, please
drop me a line privately. They all should have arrived to their
respective destinations by now.
- Does anyone have a set of Sparton horns for a '58 Plymouth that they'd
care to part with? The ones on the Duchess are beyond repair...
- For all of you "Christine" fanatics, I just acquired a really weird
Italian bootleg record with 2 semi-disco versions of "Christine
Attacks". If you want a copy, just send a 30 minute tape and a
self-addressed, stamped ($1.25) envelope to: Dave Stragand, 19 Mildred
