FYI, I have been digging around and I learned a few things about these.
1) The part originally published in various FWDLook forums and by Dave is Haldex part number B20305. Haldex is a big rig truck supplier, mostly known for hydraulic parts.
3) Some research revealed that this part is actually manufactured by Cooper/Bussmann under its Magnum brand, and is part number C6083 (which is stamped on the part from Haldex). Not sure if THEY are discontinuing it, or if Haldex simply decided to stop carrying it.
4) Cooper/Bussmann makes another nearly identical part (# C4559 ) which is distributed by another Truck supplier called Cole Hersee Co. and their part number for that is 4755 or 4755-BX.
You can see specs described on page 17 of Cooper/ Bussmann's PDF catalog here:
The difference between these 2 parts is the studs. The one Haldex carried (Magnum C6083) uses #10, 32 pitch threads. The Cole Hersee part (Magnum C4559) uses #10, 24 pitch threads and the studs are a smidgen shorter.
Note there is also a version with brass studs but they have different "barriers" between them.
I got the last 2 Haldex parts that online retailer Wheeling Truck Center www.Class8TruckParts.com could find. the guy said these were teh last two that HALDEX had (although that might really be teh local warehouse). I also have one of the Cole Hersee parts that a local supplier was able to get for me.
Not trying to hog them, just wanted to snatch them up before any non-fwdlook buys did :-). If anyone wants any of the ones I have, let me know. I will likely keep one of the C6083 Haldex ones (just because I already have the nuts that fit it) and give up the other 2.
I paid $13.79 for the Haldex part and $10 for the Cole Hersee part. I'll sell them for cost+shipping (USPS padded envelope/Priority mail should work fine and be cheapest, I think)
Otherwise, scavenge your local truck suppliers if you want one (get 'em while the gettin' is good!)
Regards, Lou
We were just talking about the contact blocks on the 300 list. Not sure if there's a difference in the number of posts. Jim Krausmann Someone was selling these on Ebay a while back, for $12.00. Does anyone have the info? Dick
