Does anyone have a recommendation for a reputable
shop that can rebuild carburetors these days?
Ideally, I'd like to buy exchange rebuilt carbs and return the core for
credit. You know, like in the olden days,
when you'd simply go to your local NAPA and pick up a rebuilt on the spot.
The old guys who ran carb
shops around here have all died off in the last few years.
It's not quite Forward Look, but my 16 year-old son wants to get our old 64
Dodge Dart 225 slant six running again.
The car's been sitting out back for three years. It ran when I parked it,
and I've fired it up a couple of times since.
Now it runs smooth after I prime it with some gas, but it won't keep
running more than several seconds.
Ignition and fuel pump output are good. Has to be the carb. They made a
gazillion of these 1-bbl Carter Ball&Ball carbs.
Now everyone I talk to reacts like I'm a space alien in search of dilithium
crystals!
