To use modern rear brakes get a '65-68 C-body rear(use the entire rear under the car), use a 57-58 (maybe newer too, but I know these work) front parking brake cable for a stick shift car and then the splitter and other cables from a 60's-70's car or truck (I used a 70's van for the middle and rear cables and brackets, I shortened the center cable as needed and used double cable locks under the car). As for the trans, yes it will work with an adapter from Hot Heads and there's a guy who makes cables to use modern trannys with pushbutton set ups but I don't know his name.

OK gang, I"m looking at a 57 Dodge fairly close to me, and wondering about upgrades.

Can a later model 904 or 727 be mated to a 325? Which also makes me wonder can newer style rear backing plates and emer. brakes be used in the FL cars?

Want to keep original engine, which may have a spun bearing,  but not too worried about the trans and rear, or at least brakes.
