The '60-62 Letter Car headers employed
with the short rams of the 400HP ('60-61) and 405HP ('62) Specials were
identical castings to the '63-64 ram headers with only one exception; that
being the lack of the exhaust heat port to connect to the intake at the carb
base. Of course they also carried different casting numbers. The
'60-62s were not similar to the 413 log type exhaust manifold.
On the '60-62 cars carburetor heat was
by hot water tapped from the heater hose ports of the engine. It takes
close to 10 minutes to get adequate heat to both carb bases of the '60-62
short ram cars.
