I also have some results from the super gas class in The NHRA that are in the low 15 sec range for the D500 cars, they don't say how they were equipped but I would guess they were dual quad cars. Every racer was different as were tracks and conditions etc. It would not be a stretch to think that a sub 15 second run was possible at the very least by the likes of an Ed Lyons or Arnie Beeswick. At any rate the Dodge was making great power for the day and its size. As for people cheating in drag racing, I would expect everyone was cheating on a level field and if the Chevys Olds Buick Pontiac or whatever could have found a 100 mph run it would have showed up somewhere. I will dig up the article on the California car and give more details, it was running low 15 sec and the owner knew there was more in the car, it was brand new and quite stock at that point. Hey, I was not alive then but I would guess that an isolated incident could be dismissed but reports from several different sources would seem credible evidence to me. Like I said Ed Lyons stated to Dennis Kennedy that he eventually was running in the low 14 sec range, maybe he was cheating or mistaken or Dennis took liberty on the facts. Tim in Golden
