Re: [FWDLK] Carb dry after sitting a week

I've got a brand new emission legal Holley (holey?) on my '77 F-word truck
and it does it too . . .

Subject: [FWDLK] Carb dry after sitting a week

All my cars had this problem of having to crank a lot after the car sat in
the garage for a week or two. The carbs were dry and needed to be filled
with gas again, then it would start. I have installed a universal electric
fuel pump in all my cars with a push button switch under the dash. Works
great.
I concluded that the gas was simply evaporating. Our carbs are VENTED, not
sealed like later cars, and with fuel-injection it's not an issue.
So there are no parts to repair or replace, it's just the way our cars
are made - PRE-EMISSION CONTROLS.
