There is a Basecoat/Clearcoat paint that is very close to chrome, cost
around $90 a pint that you can use on pitted pieces. The part must be sand or
bead blasted, filled with a polyester filler (body filler or 2 part spot
putty),primed with a 2 part primer,wet sanded and sprayed like paint.I've seen
the results at a booth at swap meet, not quit as nice as chrome but very close.I
doubt I would do my exterior large trim, but for say vent window bases and all it
is a very cheap alternative.Check with your local body shop supplier.
