I remember this car. It was in Hot Rod about 2-3 yrs ago. The driver took it on the 'Power Tour' that year. As I remember he was having one HELL of a time getting the air bag suspension to work right. Said he was sorry he got rid of the torsion bars!. Looks like he finally figured it out. At the time it was running the 413, and had some crager/anson wheels on it. Not the extreme version he has now, but 16's I think. Car was mostly original. I then saw the car again at the Mopar National. Nice to see ANYTHING forward look at the Nats. At that time the interior was still mostly original (read trashed!) He had some indian-blanket covers on it, and some flame decals on the fenders. SOMEBODY buy this thing and take care of it. If I had the cash I would snap it up in a minute. ditch the air bags, keep the disc brakes and find some decent stock looking wheels. And that 9" has got to GO! Swap it for the 8 3/4 Mopar rear I have in the basement. Interesting to see something like this pop up again. Take Care, Charles. ---- Garrett <TheBulkster@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Ok, I'd probably ditch the Ford rear end, but I'd take that "butchered up" wagon over this (not a mopar, but still hideous): > http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1972-chevy-impala-w-26inch-rims-candy-paint_W0QQitemZ200015519411QQihZ010QQcategoryZ6169QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem > > Wouldn't you? > > > Garrett > ----- Original Message ----- > From: John J. The wagon I dreamed about and loved so much has now been butchered up beyond belief. Remember that movie "Can't Buy Me Love" with Patrick Dempsey being the nerd kid, riding the Lawn-Boy mower, and trying to impress the pretty girl in high school? the car they picked for nerd-boy was a 1962 Chrysler NewYorker wagon. In the movie, it was blue with a white roof. > > That exact wagon is now for sale on eBay. It's even advertised as the movie car. Except some IDIOT has now butchered it all up with air bags, large wheels, a Ford 9" rear, removed the drivetrain, butchered up the subframe, and totally screwed it up. > > Still worth saving... it's a rust-free Arizona NYker wagon with factory a/c... and a 9 passenger wagon.. > > http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280017918911 > > and more pictures at: http://www.dranracing.com/forsale.htm > > > I already have one of these. Do I need two? Not. Someone PLEASE rescue it... check out the license plate they hung on it : UGLY CAR .
