[FWDLK] Back from the Auto Doc!

Got my car back today, after the successful dual-resevoir brake master
cylinder installation, and the overhaul of his upper/lower balljoints
and upper/lower control arm bushings.

Also, got a chassis lube and tune up.

The auto-doc diagnosed H's engine as being "very strong", 15-20 years
after (can't recall!) it was bored out 40-thousandths (his OEM 325 c.i.
is now a stout 331 c.i.) and overhauled.

Wish I could recall what that O/H cost (wanna say about $2,500.00) but,
as others have said, when in doubt about ANY surgery, get the best
'doctor' you can, and the best hardware/technology, that you can
acquire.

Altho I'm 'always' trying to "find" a set of headers, I think the nest,
easy, project will be new motor mounts (reportedly providing a smoother
ride, and better torque-control, thru the 'action' of live-rubber).

I know that , with the new control arm bushings installed, the car rides
smoother, and quieter (some rattles/roughness musta been coming from
the front suspension--my alignment shop had told me that the upper
bushings were "worn out"), & the balljoints have tightened up the
steering.

Now, about the dual master-braker, I found that my shop had apparently
"mis-adjusted"
its push-rod, @ the brake pedal, because there's too much 'softness' in
the pedal-effort; feeling is sorta like the way the Lockheed
Centerplanes' had felt; I doubt that the brakes might need adjustment;
their effect felt smooth and non-pulling; I hope that the push-rod
adjustment will dial-in the pedal-feel.

I've got some nice pics of the dual-M/C installation, PM me & I'll be
glad to send em to you.

BTW, although finding & overhauling the M/C (with
connecting-lines/fittings) is relatively easy
(& sorta-cheap), the installation of it should be left to a pro-shop.

My shop had to custom bend new lines, & fit the dualie's fittings to
them.

Also, the shop had to find an aftermarket brass "T" block, which had to
have 1/8" orifices, and
a 'new' 1/8" hydraulic-brake switch, in order to combine/match the
dualie M/C with the single resevoir's plumbing-system.
