We're a little confused about the operation of our rebuilt cast iron torqueflite for our '57 Chrysler. We've rebuilt the transmission as outlined in the factory shop manual, but find that we have a situation of "no neutral". We suspected that the forward clutch was stuck due to the amount of time between the rebuild to having the car ready for operation, but when it was re-disassembled, we discovered that wasn't apparently the case. The question at the moment relates to the clutch hub for the forward clutch; after assembling the clutch, we cannot turn the clutch hub. Shouldn't we be able to do that?
