I remember reading and seeing photos of the CHiP's testing of new police cars offered by all of the big three. And the Mopars were out of the running after the U-joints snapped when the E-brake was jammed on at speed, dumping the driveshafts. Told to come back when the e-brake was back in the rear drums where they belonged. -- > Ray Jones, Jones Ridge, in the Ouachita Mtns near Mena, Western Arkansas > From: eastern sierra Adj Services <esierraadj@xxxxxxxxx> > Reply-To: eastern sierra Adj Services <esierraadj@xxxxxxxxx> > Date: Wed, 14 Jul 2004 13:00:47 -0700 > To: L-FORWARDLOOK@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: [FWDLK] 1960 Ply "Golden Eagle" CHP car? > > I met an-otherwize knowledgable FWDLK'er, > who back-yard-mechanic'ed many of our cars in the 50's/60's. > Anyway, he 'swore' that he owned a 1960 PLY > "ex-CHP" (CA Hiway Patrol) pursuiter, for a while, and that that car had > a fender-emblem that 'said': "Golden Eagle". > > I asked him if he didn't "mean": Golden Commando, & he said 'no', he > knew about the G.C.'s, & his patrol car had "G.- E." on its emblem. > > So: > 1.
