The 1957-61 118" wheelbase cars used the same body as the 122" models. They shared the same cowl and floor stampings, except for the extension in the the rear passenger compartment. The winshields were all shares, as were many of the rear windows. The station wagon body was used for all 118", 122" and 126" wheelbase models. The front clips of all Plymotuh , Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler models were interchangeable. The 126" DeSoto and Chrysler models had the eztra 4" in the hood, by the way. So the 118" models of 1957-61 were full-size models, just like the 122" and 126" wheelbase models, and not smaller intermediate models as the 1962 B bodies were. The larger 122"/126" wheelnase bodies actually became C bodies in 1962, according to some Mopar marque writers, including Jeff Godshall, a Chrysler stylist. The 1953-56 Plymouth and Dodge models used a different body from the DeSoto, Chrysler and Imperial models So those bodies could be classified as B body if the DeSoto/Chrysler/Imperial bodies were C bodies. The 1949-52 Plymouth 111" wheelbase bodies would have been A bodies under this system. But the 1957-61 118" wheelbase Plymouth, Dodge and DeSoto Diplomat body was a full-size body and. if the 122"/126" models were C bodies, so were the 118" models.
