Garrett, Yes, that distributor on eBay would fit. It looks like a piece of total junk to me, with rusted out internals. The rust pitted cam lobes would file down the points rubbing block in short order. I wouldn't waste my time if it were free, including shipping! You can use any distributor from any 318/340/360 A or LA series engine from 1956 up to the 70s, including the Chrysler Electronic (still available with an installation kit), except the lean burn and computerized late model stuff. There are literally millions of these in salvage yards all over the country. Get one from a car that has the hood on and the cap intact. I would look for one from the 60s. Earlier distributors (56 - 59) are harder to get parts for and later (71 & up) ones start getting into the pollution control years. You should also be able to get a reconditioned one from your local auto parts store. The advance curve will probably be different than the original, but a 60s version should work fine if you time your engine the same as the car the distributor came from. First, if anyone has one they'd be willing to get rid of, please let me know. Second, I didn't think it would work, as I'm pretty sure its too old (and because the auction says its too old), but does anyone know if the distributor in this auction might work: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1815860412 It doesn't need to be anything spectacular, just something that will do its job. Price wise, I'm not sure what my dad wants to spend, but "less is more" if you know what I mean. Thanks in advance, Garrett in Central Ohio -- -- -- -- -- -- -- -- Calendars are still available.
