I just received the July issue of Mopar Performance News and note that there is a fine piece under "Racing Reflections," which details quite a bit of history of the factory-sponsored Chrysler 300's of 1955 and 56. The article is titled "Chrysler 300, America's First Musclecar." It's a pretty interesting read, telling all about the early racing of the car, formation of the teams and the competition (such as it was). Good pix, too. You can get a copy of the magazine at the parts counter of your local Mopar dealer. Some dealers charge a couple bucks for it, but most just give them away, especially if you're a racer or express some affiliation, like WPC or whatever. - Dan |
