Jeep has been owned by numerous companies, starting with Kaiser, then American Motors/AMC, and then Chrysler bought AMC to get the Jeep brand, which they now seem to be reducing to the value of seven vertical grille bars. Recently they bought the rights to "Scout" from International Harvester (who only use the brand name Navistar now) to use on a future small Jeep. I am not sure if they've retained the trademark for Imperial, but they certainly did their best to muddy its market value over the years!
