Re: IML: 90 Imperial ABS pump ----HELP ME!!!

i've written about this subject several times in the past,
so i'll give it another go.
i believe it is correct that the earlier Bosch system is not under
any kind of warranty.
I also believe it is still posible to have the bosch pump and also
the bosch master cyl./ hydraulic assembly rebuilt by
Cardone Industries, which i think is located in or near Philadelphia,PA.
i went through this very problem a couple years ago with a 90
imperial with the bosch system.
the pump failed ,causing a very hard brake pedal.
at the time ,chrysler had no new ones in stock.
my local parts house suggested sending it to Cardone for repair.
it was sent in, and came back in about 10 days fully repaired and ready to install.
about 2 or 3 weeks went by and the customer came back with the same problem. pump was pulled and returned to cardone for inspection and repair.
it was determined that something was causing the pump to run more than needed to keep the system pressurized.
the hydraulic assembly/master cyl. was pulled and sent in for inspection and repair. it had an internal leak which made the pump run more than needed ,causing it to overheat anf fail.
these parts are very expensive if they can even be found at the dealer. not likely after 14 years.
sending them to cardone industries , at least in my case was
a good second choice, for rebuilding.
after the assembly was repaired this car was back to 100%.
if there is a reputable parts house in your area, they should be able to track down a phone number for cardone.
call them and make sure they can still do these items.
they should be able to give an estimate of cost.
these may also need to be sent in by the parts house, as i am not sure if cardone deals direct to the public.
i may even be able to track down a phone # if you let me know.
