RE: IML: Modern headlights too bright?

As anybody that met me at Carlisle can attest, I'm as squinty as the next guy and squintier than most. I've been complaining about these new headlights myself. I have found that the majority of really bad ones are aftermarket units. It seems that the cheaper aftermarket units give you the brightness but are not as "soft." I think that the real good factory ones (BMW, Nissan Maxima) are usually quite good and the blue tinted lights are actually specifically designed to be bright without causing us to squint. The real culprits are poor aftermarket units and poor aiming. I have regular halogen replacement bulbs in my '83 Imperial and they sure aren't too bright.
