Kerry and other Imperial folks, Thanks for the response to my request. I located a 1953 Imperial hood which looks to be in pretty decent shape. The day after I posted my request I received an email and photos of two 1953 Imperial hoods from Moore's Auto Salvage. I contacted them by phone and purchased one of the hoods. I have no previous experience with Moore's Auto Salvage but I must say I am impressed with the company after speaking to one of the employees, actually the grandson (maybe great grandson)of one of the founders. For your information Moore's Auto Salvage specializes in MOPARs. The company website is www.mooresautosalvage.com. There is an interesting history of the company posted on its website.
