59 Imperial Modification

Is a V10 actually an improvement over a 413? I wouldn't think so. Before you rustle up that V10 truck engine and redesign the suspension better make sure that you sock away about six figures in the bank before you start. A guy pulled this stunt with a 68' Dodge Charger a few years back and needed every penny to pull it off. I should mention that he ended up trying to sell his "Baby" within a year so that should indicate something about how much it improved the drivabilty.
Why don't you try something cheaper like rebuilding the 413 engine to 300E, F, or G specs with the cross ram intakes? Duel circuit brakes would also be an improvement and maybe disks on the front if you can find a bolt on conversion kit someplace. In terms of suspension torsion bars are the way to stay unless you really love that modern go-cart feel that the "More Advanced" coil sprung cars of today posess.

I have considering restoring a 59 Imperial but would like to have the classic look but with modern susupension and braking/handling.
I have access to a dodge 3500 V-10 truck...thought about blending the two to get a modern car with huge performance.
What is the best doner vehicle to use for the 1950's Imperials ?  Thanks
