8 tracks

The 80's Imperials had several radio options available & at least one of them had a cassette player.

Yeh, by the early eighties, 8 tracks were really a thing of the past.  All
the car makers were putting cassette players in their cars.  My '85 Toronado
Brougham has a factory stereo/cassette player combo with a graphic equalizer
all built into one unit.  This was not the base model radio by any means but
the top of the line system for '85!  Had Imperial lasted beyond '83, (not
counting the '90s models), they would have had the very latest sound systems
in them as well.
