1960 Stuck engine update

  What do you mean by piston sleeve? Do you mean a crack in the piston skirt or in the cylinder wall? If a fellow is claiming that he will fix that as well as pull the engine and free it up for $500, it sounds a little too good to be true. In most garages pulling the motor alone would cost at least that much, freeing up an engine is usually a job that they won't touch. A machine shop will usually charge somewhere around $60 a hole to put a sleeve in, never mind reboring the other cylinders or turning down the crank if needed.

 The number 6 cylinder has a crack in the piston Sleeve. There was a lot of rust in number 6. A lot of rust. So I guess its going to have to come out. Do they sell piston sleeves anywhere or am I really out of luck?
