Marketing an Imperial



Dear List: 

This is a bit of Imperial trivia...

In October of 1983, I happened to have lunch with Don Gshwind, VP of Product Planning at Chrysler, in the executive lunch room. In the course of the conversation, the Imperial name was discussed. Don told me that the Imperial name on a vehicle was good for $2000 extra because of the perceived (by the public) extra value.

Would DC ever bring back the Imperial nameplate? In my honest opinion, the answer is NO! Why, you may ask? Simply because there have been too many starts and stops...
